This counterbore is equipped with Poly Crystalline Diamond (PCD) tips and an internal bore to allow for varying size interchangeable pilots to be fitted (sold separately), the Poly Crystalline Diamond (PCD) tips enable an excellent surface finish with extremely long tool life. In direct comparison to high speed steel and carbide, PCD tools are exceptionally resistant to wear. In certain applications these diamond tools can exceed the life of an equivalent carbide tool by 50 to 100 times.
Excellent for cutting hard abrasive products such as carbon fibre.

Suits 515 series pilots.

Material: high speed steel shank with fixed Poly Crystalline Diamond (PCD) tips.
Number of cutting faces (flutes): 2
Bore diameter: 1/8″ diameter with a side locking screw (allows for the addition of an interchangeable pilot, sold separately)
Overall length: 2.75″

Capable of machining (but not limited to): Aluminium, Aluminium Alloy, Zinc Magnesium Alloy, Carbon Graphite Composite, Fibreglass Composite, Graphite Composite, Epoxy Resin.
These countersinks can be resharpened in house by Ultracut, therefore saving on new tooling costs.
